Shamrock’s won a lot of ball but some poor shooting & decision making letting them down. Quick delivery from Shane O Mahony & Sean Lahert to the inside forward line seemed to be effective & was well rewarded with a great individual goal by Mark Fitzgerald. Half time score was 1-2 to 1-8 to Cusack’s.
Perth Shamrocks introduced Trevor McGrath & Chris Cavanagh to the forward line at half time & both contributed with points from play. Trevor McGrath caused a lot of trouble in the full forward line. He laid off a lovely ball to Brian Higgins who was taken down for a penalty & at this stage it was a 2 point game. Mark Fitzgerald shaved the cross bar with the resulting penalty but Cusack’s went down the field & replied with a well taken free.
Perth Shamrocks notched up a total of 14 wides throughout the game & if they were more clinical the score could have been different. Overall, it was a good contest between the two teams & Michael Cusack’s ran out well deserved 2 point winners.
